Ryan Wright holds a Ph.D. from Washington State University in Management Information Systems and an MBA and Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Montana. Ryan's research interests take a behavioral approach to understanding how current technologies can be used to enable secure and efficient e-business transactions. He is published in the MIS Quarterly, Journal of MIS,Communications of the AIS, and other peer-reviewed journals.Ryan's professional experience includes tenure as CTO of a successful startup, time in management at Amoco Oil (now BP), consulting projects for the US Department of Commerce and expert testimony in IS privacy and security.

This research validates 24 work system principles that emerged from the effort to develop the work system method, whose goal is to help business professionals understand and analyze systems in organizations in their own terms, and also to help bridge the communication gaps that have undermined IS projects and reduced business/IT alignment.

The purpose of this panel it is to evoke a discussion that examines how cybercriminals translate methods for stealing data, identities, and money from individuals and organizations from the face-to-face world to an information technology (IT) enabled environment. Specifically, this panel will: 1) give members of the audience an opportunity to learn about contemporary theories of the psychology behind white collar crime (e.g, securities fraud, identity theft, phishing), 2) engage the audience in a discussion of how IT plays a role in enabling transfers of ?criminal behavior? from traditional contexts to online contexts, and 3) to review challenges and opportunities for researchers seeking to investigate IT-enabled criminal behavior.

In this panel, the joint AIS / ACM Information Systems undergraduate model curriculum task force members together with other curriculum experts will be presenting and discussing the IS 2009 Curriculum Guidelines for Undergraduate Degree Programs in Information Systems document and soliciting IS community feedback regarding ongoing IS curriculum development efforts. As such, the panel discussion will center on the significant components embedded in the newly revised curriculum document. This includes: 1) an introduction to the key principles that guided the development of the document, 2) a list of features incorporated into the new model curricula, 3) the future of curriculum development efforts, and 4) proposed mechanism to solicit feedback from the academy.
